A packaged pump solution for connection between UFH manifolds and low temperature heat sources

In addition to traditional heat sources producing water at a temperature which needs to be reduced for use in underfloor heating (e.g. boilers), an increasing number of systems are being installed which use low temperature heat sources.  Air or ground source heat pumps which produce water at a lower controlled temperature which can be used directly with underfloor heating are a typical example of this kind of low-temperature heat source. These do not require the temperature reduction that boilers do and therefore a simpler lower cost solution to connect the manifold to the system can be used.

Emmeti have developed the T2 UFH Heat Pump Control Group specifically for this type of application. It has been designed to give a cost effective pre-assembled solution to connecting the manifold to the low temperature heat source while offering a number of additional benefits:

  • Automatic differential pressure by-pass valve – on mixed radiator and underfloor heating systems, excess circulating pressure from a primary pump can be by-passed, if required, to maintain correct flow to the underfloor circuits from the secondary circulating pump. Allows pressure balancing where more than one manifold has been installed.
  • Three built in isolating valves allow both the manifold to be isolated and the circulating pump to be isolated, for repair or replacement. The three way valve at the pump inlet enables the system flow to continue through the automatic by-pass valve without affecting system balancing
  • The Control Group enables 28mm copper tube to be directly connected to the inlet and the manifold to be directly connected to the outlet by means of the 1”M swivel connection provided
  • It is fully compatible with Emmeti Topway T2 manifolds. As supplied the circulating pump is in the upper arm of the T2 Control Group and it can be re-assembled so that the pump is in the lower arm of the pack to suit both the standard and inverted Emmeti T2 manifold types. The compression inlet connections and male threaded swivel outlet connections ensure that the Control Group can be installed swiftly from copper tube to manifold in one operation.
