T2 Topway LS

Type 2 Topway LS Pre-Ass. Heating Manifold

Type 2 Topway manifolds can be used for both Under Floor Heating and Wall Hung Radiator heating applications as a pre-assembled option or as single bars. The flow bar on the Type 2 Topway LS has an integrated red capped double regulating lockshield per circuit.

The lockshield valve can be upgraded to incorporate a flowmeter with flowmeter kit 01306306 (0 – 4l/min). The integrated electrothermic valves on the return bar allow for electrical control of each circuit with electrothermic actuators wired to room thermostats.

Pre-assembled manifold includes no.2 drain off/fill valves; no. 2 automatic air vents; no. 2 blanking plugs. All pre-mounted onto a double offset bracket.

Technical Data

Product Features

  • The T2 Topway LS (Lock Shield) pre-assembled has a double regulating red sleeved lockshield per circuit on the flow bar.
  • The double regulation allows isolation and flow balancing of each circuit.
  • The return bar has blue capped integrated electrothermic bodies (ready for electrothermic heads) per circuit.
  • Manifold flow and return bars are offset to accommodate flow and return pipework.
  • Can be surface mounted, concealed in a choice of purpose designed plastic or metal cabinets or within a partition wall.
  • Ball valves, threaded fittings and Monoblocco pipe connectors available to accommodate a wide range of pipe types and sizes.

For Electrothermic actuators and matching zone controls to meet or exceed Building Regulations requirements, see Zone Controls.

FAQS

Why do I get a bubble in the top of the flow meter?
There can be a small residue of air in the top of the flow meter. The higher the filling flow rate, the less air there generally is. As long as it is above the reading scale, it does not affect the reading. Over time, the air dissolves back into the water and will naturally disappear, as it is absorbed into the water.

How can I get 22mm take off connections on your Topway manifolds?
They are not designed for this, taking pipe only up to 20mm. However, if you wish, you can remove our take off connectors, taking care to not exert too much pressure and damaging the manifold in the process. They are factory glued in, but can be removed with care. Replace them with 1/” MBSP x 22mm copper compression connectors manufactured to BSEN 1254-2.  We recommend contacting Muller Primaflow (www.muellerprimaflow.com), product code 22009005 brass.

What are the temperature & pressure ratings for our Topway T2 maniolfds?
Topway T2 with lockshields is 110°C and 10 bar
Topway T2 with flowmeters is 90°C and 6 bar

How do I clean and flush out an underfloor heating system?
Both new and replacement systems (a system where a new boiler is fitted is classed as a replacement system) are required by the Building Regulations1 to be thoroughly cleaned and flushed and a water treatment inhibitor added to protect the system from further corrosion. This is also particularly important where an underfloor heating (UFH) system is added to an existing heating system, to prevent the new UFH system becoming contaminated by water in the older system which may be contaminated with corrosion sediment. For further details of how to do this consult the following guides and code of practice:
  1. Domestic Building Services Compliance Guide
  2. BS 7593 – Code of practice for treatment of water in domestic hot water central heating systems
  3. BSRIA Guide BG29/2012 - Pre-Commission Cleaning of Pipework Systems
  4. BSRIA Guide BG 4/2011 – Underfloor Heating and Cooling

Can you connect a copper pipe to any of Emmeti Manifolds?
Yes but we only cater for 10mm and 15mm pipe

Why is the amount of water in the flow meter different on different occasions?
The initial amount of air can vary depending on your fill flow rate. Then it will be affected by your pump pressure, the higher the pressure, the less air that will be visible (as air is compressed under pressure). Over time, the air dissolves back into the water and will naturally disappear, as it is absorbed into the water.

Does flow affect the amount of water in the flow meter?
The initial amount of air can vary depending on your fill flow rate. Then it will be affected by your pump pressure, the higher the pressure, the less air that will be visible (as air is compressed under pressure). Typically, you can evidence this, between when the pump is running, and when the pump is off.  Over time, the air dissolves back into the water and will naturally disappear, as it is absorbed into the water.
