T3 UFH Control Groups

A range of Control Groups designed to provide both fixed and variable temperature solutions to suit Emmeti Under Floor Heating manifolds in 1” and 1¼” sizes. Each Control Group includes temperature management, a Wilo Yonos Para Class A circulating pump, built-in temperature gauge, mounting bracket and swivel joints for connection to the manifold assembly.

In order to provide water at the right temperature for underfloor heating, a mixing valve is used to take heated water from a heat source and mix it with the return water from the underfloor system to the correct design temperature. Where the heat source can provide the right temperature by itself e.g. a low temperature boiler, then a T3 control set is not needed.

Mixing water to the design temperature can be achieved either by using a thermostatic mixing valve to give a ‘fixed’ temperature or a motorised valve which can give either a ‘fixed’ or ‘variable’ temperature. The Emmeti range has two thermostatic and two motorised mixing valves in the range.

T3 UFH Control Group with thermostatic mixing valve and pump – U9700090

U9700090Designed for the Underfloor heating market, the T3 Control Group incorporates a compact thermostatic mixing valve. Compatible with Topway T2 manifolds at 210mm centres, includes 1 M manifold connections with O-ring seals and 1M connections for the primary flow and return to the Control Group.

The Group includes as standard a temperature gauge measuring the mixed flow temperature and a supporting bracket to support the weight of the pump. It includes a non-return valve to assist filling the system.

Valve Kvs 3.4. Temperature range adjustment 35oC – 60oC. ErP compliant variable speed class A pump Wilo Yonos Para RS25/6 RKA.

Other features include:

  • 1” M swivel joints for fast connection to 1” F manifold tapping
  • Ball valve set for fitting to 1” M connections

T3 UFH Control Group with thermostatic mixing valve, electrothermic head and pump – U9700033

U9700033Using a similar specification to the U9700090 Control Group above, the thermostatic mixing valve incorporates a thermal actuator, which when de-energised, shuts off the flow of hot water through it, to the Underfloor heating manifold. The actuator incorporates an auxiliary switch to operate other equipment, e.g. boilers. This enables the Control Group to be used in four different applications:

1. Isolation of the manifold when the pump and valve are de-energised

2. Where an additional level of temperature control is required to ensure that a maximum floor temperature is not exceeded. This requires a suitable safety thermostat.

3. Single zone applications, when a minimum water temperature is required to switch the zone on. This also requires a suitable safety thermostat.

4. Single zone applications where the actuator auxiliary switch energises the boiler and primary pump in conjunction with an existing controls system for heating and hot water.

Electrothermic head NC 4-wire. Valve Kvs 3.4. Temperature range adjustment 35oC – 70oC. ErP compliant variable speed class A pump Wilo Yonos Para RS25/6 RKA.

  • 1” M swivel joints for fast connection to 1” F manifold tappings
  • Suitable for Topway Type 2 manifolds or any manifold with connections on 210mm centres
  • Ball valve set for fitting to 1” M connections

T3 UFH Control Group with motorised mixing valve and pump – U9700043

U9700043Designed for applications where both a higher flow and flexible control of water temperature is required. This allows the Control Group to be used with a range of temperature control options.

To complete the product, specify one of three temperature management actuators which mount directly on the valve.

  • Actuator only U9750010 for use with an external temperature control system
  • Actuator U9750021 with built-in fixed temperature controller complete with remote water temperature sensor
  • Weather compensating controller U9750030 complete with water and outside temperature sensors

T3 UFH Control Group with motorised mixing valve and pump – high flow – U9700053

U9700053Designed for applications where both a higher flow and flexible control of water temperature is required. This allows the control set to be used with a range of temperature control options.

To complete the product, specify one of three temperature management actuators which mount directly on the valve.

  • Actuator only U9750010 for use with an external temperature control system
  • Actuator U9750021 with built-in fixed temperature controller complete with remote water temperature sensor
  • Weather compensating controller U9750030 complete with water and outside temperature sensors

FAQS

Can you install the T3 control set upside down?
Yes:- the mounting bracket will need to be re-fixed so that it can be secured to the mounting surface and the pump rotated to the front.

What are the 6 temperature settings equivalent to on the T3 UFH Control Set?
35°C - 40°C - 45°C - 50°C - 55°C - 60°C

Can a T3 UFH Control Set be used with another branded manifold?
Yes, if the centres and connections of the manifold are compatible.

What is a ‘shunt unit’?
A 'shunt unit' is the description given in Nordic countries to a underfloor heating pump and temperature management unit.  Emmeti UK call this the T3 Control Set.

Can a T3 Control Set be fitted to a standard non inverted Topway Type 2 manifold?
No, because-
    1. This would cause noise in the manifold valves fitted with an Electrothermic head because the flow would be in the wrong direction
    2. Flowmeters, where fitted, would not work accurately as the flow would be in the wrong direction
 

How do I clean and flush out an underfloor heating system?
Both new and replacement systems (a system where a new boiler is fitted is classed as a replacement system) are required by the Building Regulations1 to be thoroughly cleaned and flushed and a water treatment inhibitor added to protect the system from further corrosion. This is also particularly important where an underfloor heating (UFH) system is added to an existing heating system, to prevent the new UFH system becoming contaminated by water in the older system which may be contaminated with corrosion sediment. Can you connect a copper pipe to any of Emmeti Manifolds?
Yes but we only cater for 10mm and 15mm pipe
